It’s a fright night tilt with the Delta Ice hawks tonight at the Mission Leisure Centre and the Outlaws are hoping that the end result will not be frightening.
Last Tuesday these 2 teams met in Delta and saw the Ice Hawks come out on top in a double overtime victory. The events that would follow after the conclusion of this game will make for a good story line going into tonight’s game. There is no secret, that there is a dislike between these 2 teams and that was evident when the Ice Hawks came down to the Outlaws end to settle some kind of score with Tristan Dundas as he tried to leave the playing surface. As a result, there were some suspensions handed out to the Ice Hawks by the PJHL brass. However, all the suspended players in the altercation will return to the line up tonight.
It was probably one of the better games of the season for the Outlaws in Delta with Mission City showing great work ethic throughout the entire 60 minutes. The one grey area for the Outlaws has to be the strange events on home ice this season as the team has shown that they can play very strong in the first 2 periods but for some reason third periods seem to be the Achilles Heel for this squad.
The Outlaws made a trade this week sending Forward Jonathan Philliey to the Aldergrove Kodiaks in exchange for Josh Pollock. Pollock will be in the lineup tonight for Mission City and will wear number 11. From all accounts at practice this week, Pollock shows that he can fit right in with this team not to mention he is capable of using the body every chance he gets to finish his check.
Who to watch for:
Mission City – Tristan Dundas – Although no points for Dundas this season, the play from Tristan has been very good the last while and it will be just a matter of time before he gets on the board.
Delta – Evan Grannary – One of the more noticeable players on the ice for the Hawks last game and the rookie sits second in scoring on the team with 12 points.
All statistics aside, something has to give soon for the Outlaws on home ice this season. Look for a huge 60 minute effort coming our way tonight at the Mission Leisure Centre.
