It was a tough pill to swallow for the Mission City Outlaws on Tuesday night as the team let a lead slip through the finger tips. Ice Hawks were just too much to handle in the 3rd period and the final result was a 3-2 loss for the Outlaws.
For the first time in quite some time, the Outlaws would draw first blood in a game. Mission City has had it’s struggles scoring goals early on in the season but that seems to be coming into full form.
Cam Bertsch got his 7th goal of the season and it was a power play tally for the Outlaws. The power play has been struggling the last 3 games going just 2 for 16. The penalty kill however, has been good the last 3 games with the team killing off 17 of 20.
The Delta Ice hawks have now taken all 3 games in the season series so far and have only surrendered 1 point to the Outlaws during that time. With the win the Delta Ice Hawks improve to an impressive record of 15-5-1-1 good for 32 points and still lead first overall.in the PJHL. The Outlaws remain 1 point behind the Ridge Meadows Flames for 3rd in the Harold Brittain Conference with 14 points with 1 game in hand.
It was the start of a busy week for the Outlaws and that will be the silver lining for Mission City, as the team won’t have to wait long to try and bounce back from the loss on Tuesday. The Outlaws will welcome the North Delta Devils on Thursday night at the Mission Leisure Centre. It all gets going with a 7:15 pm puck drop.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
