The Mission City Outlaws ended a busy week of games with a 4-2 win over the Grandview Steelers at the Burnaby Winter Club yesterday afternoon. An Outlaws team that was really needing something good to happen after dropping the first 3 games this week against Delta, North Delta and Port Moody.
With the recent struggles, the Outlaws found themselves in a bit of a pickle as the Panthers were narrowing the gap in the standings for the 4th spot in the Harold Brittain Conference. Well it’s amazing what a day makes and now the Outlaws have a 4 point lead again over Port Moody and have now tied the Ridge Meadows Flames for 3rd in the standings.
4 different players factored into the scoring for the Outlaws on Sunday afternoon. Cam Bertsch, Brody Dyck, Bryce Pisiak and David McGowan added to their goal totals. The Outlaws were able to get not 1 but 2 short handed goals against the Steelers in the win. Will Latimer had a good afternoon/night between the pipes for Mission City as he stopped 42 of 44 shots sent his way.
The Outlaws will be looking to add to their win column with a rematch of sorts this Thursday against the very same Grandview Steelers who will visit the Mission Leisure Centre for the last time this regular season. Game time is 7:15 PM.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
