GAME DAY!!! Outlaws @ Sockeyes

Trust me when I tell you, the Outlaws coaching staff have been working feverishly to try and make sure Thursday’s 6-1 loss to the Grandview Steelers on home ice doesn’t become a regular occurrence but tonight Mission City will be taking their 4-4-1-2 road record into the Minoru Arena in Richmond to take on the Sockeyes.

The last time these 2 teams met was back on November 7th at the Mission Leisure Centre which found the Sockeyes on the winning end of a convincing 5-2 win.  The Outlaws will have to play a smart game in their own end first and carry the momentum from there if they are going to be successful tonight.

After last night the Mission City Outlaws find themselves back in 4th place solely in the Harold Brittain Conference as both the Port Moody Panthers and the Ridge Meadows Flames picked up 2 HUGE points in their respective games.  What does that mean for the Outlaws?  It means that again the Panthers are nipping at the heals of the Outlaws and trail by just 2 points.  The Flames jumped ahead by 2 points with their win.  Pretty safe to say that this is going to be a battle all season long between these 3 clubs as both Abbotsford and Aldergrove have created quite the separation from the pack at the top of the conference.  The Richmond Sockeyes sit in 2nd in the Tom Shaw Conference with a record of 12-4-2-3 for 29 points and sit just 8 points behind the Delta Ice Hawks so you can imagine that they will want those 2 points as well tonight.

Who to watch for:

Mission City – Brandon McReynolds – McReynolds made his debut on Thursday and saw a lot of ice time with his new club.  He was rewarded with the lone goal for the Mission City Outlaws.

Richmond – Liam Lawson – Lawson had 3 assists the last time these 2 teams met on Nov. 7 and also leads the team in scoring with 24 points.

Final Thoughts:

The Mission City Outlaws have had good showings this year against tougher opponents and the road record speaks for itself.  The home struggles will be fixed and the Outlaws just need to stick to business as usual as there are still a lot of games to go here in the season.

You can catch all the play by play action tonight on our free audio channel at MixLR.com with the pre game show starting at 5:35 PM and the puck drop at 5:45 PM.

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
