Tonight the Mission City Outlaws make their final trip of the regular season to the Harry Jarome Recreation Centre in North Vancouver to take on the Wolf Pack.
The Outlaws are coming off a tough double OT loss on Thursday to the Abbotsford Pilots at the Mission Leisure Centre and will be looking to rebound against a pretty tough opponent as of late in the North Vancouver Wolf Pack. The Pack sit 2nd in the Tom Shaw conference with a record of 18-8-1-1 and sit just 1 point behind the Delta Ice Hawks for first in the standings so you know their going to be just as hungry. The Outlaws, who had a single point on Thursday, have a 2 point cushion on the Port Moody Panther and Mission City has 3 games in hand.
The Outlaws have done a great job of blocking shots and taking away shooting lanes the last handful of games. For that, the coaching staff has been very pleased. However, one thing the team would like to see less of is late game penalties. That is something that we have seen a little too much lately. The brightside is the record away from home for Mission City. A record of 4-5-1-2 away from the MLC is good for 11 points out of the 17 total so far this season.
Who to watch for:
Mission City – Bryce Pisiak – Pisiak by far had one of his better games on Thursday. Not only creating scoring chances but finishing them as well.
North Vancouver – Daniel Tait – Since coming over to the Wolf Pack earlier in the season from the Richmond Sockeyes, Tait has 17 points in 19 games for the Pack.
The Outlaws have deserved a better outcome the last 2 games and I really feel a good showing against a tough opponent will be just the Christmas present the team needs to get back on the right track.
