Outlaws Come Close but Too Late

It was a Outlaws squad who was fairly undermanned on Thursday night when the team hosted the Ridge Meadows Flames at the Mission Leisure Centre.

Mission City dressed only 18 skaters as Eddie Lalonde served a 1 game suspension and Kyle Raymond was a bit under the weather.  This was a real opportunity for the young rookies on the Outlaws to really step up and for the most part did just that.  Once again 5 on 5, the Outlaws were the better team, but ultimately they were on the wrong end of a 3-2 final score.

Bryce Phenix had the start in net for the Mission City Outlaws and had another good showing between the pipes.  The only pucks that got by him were 2 bad bounces and a really good wrist shot that would have gotten by pretty much any goaltender.  All in all, the coaching staff is very pleased with what Phenix brings to the table.

For the first time in the 3 meetings this season, the Flames got a win against Mission City.  The Outlaws will be looking for a BIG 2 points on Friday night when the team makes their second trip to the MSA Arena to take on another rival in the Abbotsford Pilots.  I think I speak for everyone in the Mission City Outlaws organization that a great early gift would be a win.

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
