It will be another huge divisional game for the Mission City Outlaws tonight when the team makes the short trip down the Lougheed Highway to the Cam Neely Arena in Maple Ridge to take on divisional rivals the Ridge Meadows Flames.
Last night the Outlaws made a big statement picking up their 7th win of the season and putting a 3 point cushion between themselves and the Port Moody Panthers with a 6-2 victory over the Delta Ice Hawks at the Mission Leisure Centre.
Pulling off back to back wins will not be an easy task for the Outlaws as the team has only once this season won 2 in a row but if last night was any indication of what we can expect moving forward, then this should be a great contest. The other part to that story is that the Flames have been playing great hockey as of late and are a lot tougher than they were at the beginning of the season. Ridge Meadows has won 6 of their last 7 games with the loss coming as recently as Wednesday night when they suffered their first loss in over a month against the Aldergrove Kodiaks so that will be a hungry team on the other end of the ice.
The Outlaws sit in 4th place in the Harold Brittain Conference with 19 points. Ridge meadows sits in 3rd place with a record of 13-13-3-2 for 31 points.
Who to watch for:
Mission City – Bakshi Gill – Gill had a goal and an assist in last nights win and created many chances with his fine puck moving skills. The Outlaws will be looking to him and his line mates Brody Dyck and Bryce Pisiak to keep chipping in offensively tonight as well.
Ridge Meadows – Nicholas Coltura – The fast puck moving defenceman for the Flames picked up 2 helpers the last time these 2 teams met at the Mission Leisure Centre and the Outlaws know they will have to play him tight all game.
There were a lot of good things to take out of that win last night but the team will need to keep moving forward here with just 13 games left to go in the regular season. Crunch time has officially began.
You can catch all the action on our FREE audio channel at MixLR.com beginning at 7:20 PM pre game and a 7:30 PM puck drop LIVE tonight.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
