The Outlaws were looking for their 2nd win in a row last night in Maple Ridge when they took on the Ridge Meadows Flames but it was not to be as the Flames defeated Mission City by a final score of 5-3.
Other than the 1st period, the Outlaws were stride for stride with the surging Flames for the last 40 minutes of this hockey game. The Outlaws would find themselves in a considerable amount of penalty trouble in the first when they were killing penalties longer than the time at even strength. Regrouping was a must for the Outlaws to move forward and make a game of it and that is exactly the move Mission City made. A very entertaining game followed the first period and the Outlaws clawed their way back into the game.
Dylan Kooner would get the Outlaws back within 1 goal with his 2 goal performance in the second period and just when time looked like it was going to run out, Nolan Riebalkin would get his first goal of the season pulling the Outlaws even. But it was short lived as the very next shift the Flames would score the winning goal and late seconds the empty netter for the final 5-3 score.
As a result, the season series is now tied at 2 wins a piece with 2 more games remaining between the 2 clubs.
The Outlaws will not have to wait long to get back at it as they have another big divisional game against the Aldergrove Kodiaks on Wednesday night in Aldergrove.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
