It was a tough week for the Mission City Outlaws as they dropped the 2 games they had this week but the bad news did not end there. The Port Moody Panthers were able to pull off a victory on Friday night and have managed to momentarily leap frog the Outlaws for the final playoff spot in the Harold Brittain Conference.
The on ice action all got started on Thursday night when the Outlaws hosted the first overall Aldergrove Kodiaks at the Mission Leisure Centre. Mission City had a good work ethic but again no puck luck for the team in this one. On the other side of the coin the Kodiaks seemed to have all the luck in the world especially Adam Callegari who had a 6 point night with 5 goals and 1 assist and obviously earned the games 1 star honour. The Kodiaks would pick up the victory with a final score of 7-2.
The next night the Outlaws would look to move on from Thursday nights game. In a game that saw the Outlaws score first, they were not able to get any puck luck going against the other team and dropped their second straight game by a final score of 6-2. A former Outlaws goalie got the win in this one.
The coming week will be the most crucial for the Mission City Outlaws as they have 2 road games this week against the Richmond Sockeyes at the Minoru Arena in Richmond on Thursday night and followed up with a final regular season tilt with the Ridge Meadows Flames on Friday night in Maple Ridge. Just 3 games remain in the regular season so gut check time has officially begun.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
