Outlaws Add New Associate Coach

This past week the Mission City Outlaws announced that they have added a new associate coach to join the staff of Head Coach Brad Veitch and associate coach Mike Drouillard on the bench this upcoming season.

Mission Minor Hockey Association coach and local businessman, Sean Downey will join the team as the defensive coach for the 2014/15 season.  Downey brings to the table a bag full of experience to help this team strive for success as the Outlaws are hosting the Cyclone Taylor Cup next April.

Downey, a native of Mission, had quite the Junior hockey career.  He started his career back in 1992 and spent 2 seasons with the Abbotsford Pilots.  After that Sean spent 2 seasons in the Junior A ranks playing for the Royal City Outlaws and the Penticton Panthers in the BCHL before heading to the Cranbrook Colts to finish off his tenure.  During his time in Junior, Downey was named 1st defensive all star.

Welcome to the team Sean!!!

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
