Tonight the Mission City Outlaws will be looking to seek their first win of the season when they make the first visit of 2014/15 to the MSA Arena in Abbotsford to take on the rival Pilots.
The Outlaws are coming off a thrilling 6-6 tie last Saturday against the Aldergrove Kodiaks. If the first 2 games are any indication, Mission City has seemed to find its scoring touch with 10 goals combined. The Pilots are on the other side of the spectrum when it comes to offence as they have just 5 goals in 3 games early on this young season.
The Pilots were in action last night against the Langley Knights at the GPRC where penalty trouble played a big factor in a 4-1 loss to the Knights, so you know that it will be a pretty hungry team on the other end of the rink.
Who to watch for:
Mission City – Landen Matechuk – After a 3 goal performance last Saturday, it would be hard to not mention Matechuk as our player to watch. Matechuk seems to have found his groove early on which has pleased the Outlaws coaching staff.
Abbotsford – Jacob Crawford – Probably one of the only reasons that the game last night was a 4-1 loss for the Pilots and not more of a blowout. Crawford was a rock between the pipes for the Pilots against the Knights.
There is no hiding the huge rivalry that exists between these 2 clubs and the major key to this game will be which team can play the most disciplined for the whole 60 minutes.
Just a reminder that this will be game 1 of 3 in Abbotsford that will not be broadcast on mixlr.com this season. However, you can still stay up to date on the teams twitter account @missionoutlaws and @outlawsbcast for details as they happen. Sorry again for the inconvenience. Puck drop at 7:30PM.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink
