GAME DAY! Outlaws Host Grandview Steelers

Today marks the first anniversary since the launch of this blog and there have been a lot of ups and downs over that time but last nights 8-1 victory on Friday night over the Abbotsford Pilots is the first winning lopsided affair for the Outlaws since I joined the team to bring all the action to you on the broadcasts.

Goals came in bunches for the hockey club from Mission City last night as it seemed that anything the Outlaws threw towards the Pilots net, seemed to find its way by the Abby goaltender.  Skating and outworking the opposition was also a bright side for Mission City and the last 2 games you can really see the team starting to come together early on and recognizing that the Outlaws are going to be a competitive team moving forward.

Next up for the Outlaws is a home game tonight at the Mission Leisure Centre when one of the PJHL’s storied franchise, the Grandview Steelers come to town.  The Steelers are coming off a hard fought 3-2 double OT win last Sunday in their home opener against the Port Moody Panthers.

Who to watch for:

Mission City – Kyle Lennea – Lennea has shown some real strides in a positive direction this season early on and that was no more evident then last nights 2 goal performance against the Pilots.

Grandview – Ian Prevost – The Steelers rookie had a great game last Sunday as he had 3 helpers in the game for the win.

Final thoughts:

The Outlaws now have 18 goals combined in just 3 games and will be looking to keep that going tonight.  It won’t be easy as Grandview is always a defensive minded team but the offence coming from the Outlaws will put that to the test.

The puck drops at 6:45 pm at the MLC.  Bring the whole family and come cheer on your Mission City Outlaws.  Can’t make it out to the rink tonight?  Then you can catch all the action on our FREE audio only broadcast on with the pregame show beginning at 6:35 pm.  Note: This game may not be broadcast on PPV as we are still experiencing difficulties in the building and I will have more answers when I get to the building tonight so stay tuned to twitter for all the updates.

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
