After a convincing win and a tough loss last week, the Mission City Outlaws will not have to wait long to right the ship and get back in the win column against the North Van Wolf Pack tonight in a rare home game for the Outlaws at the Mission Leisure Centre.
Goal scoring early on this season has been a bright side for the Outlaws. In the 4 games played, Mission City has scored 20 goals combined. The negative is the fact the Outlaws have been taking some untimely penalties and that is something that the coaching staff has stressed at practice this week.
The Outlaws sit in 4th place in the Harold Brittain Conference with 3 points on the season. The Wolf Pack are on a little more positive side of the standings in the Tom Shaw Conference as they sit tied for 1st with the Richmond Sockeyes and you can bet they would love to get some separation from the Sockeyes with a win tonight.
Who to watch for:
Mission City – Brendan Jay – Since returning from the BCHL’s Coquitlam Express training camp, Jay has stayed sharp on the back end for the Outlaws in the 2 games last week. Jay has also been chipping in offensively notching a goal and an assist in his return to the lineup.
North Van – Spencer Quon – Quon returns for his 4th season with the Wolf Pack and last year was a huge thorn in the side of the Mission City Outlaws. One player to keep in mind that is for sure.
Tonight’s game will be the first of a busy 3 game week for the Outlaws and they would love to get on track with a win. It may not come easy but Mission City is a different team than last year and have shown some serious steps forward to stay competitive.
The Puck drops at the MLC at 7 PM. The game will also be broadcast on MixLR.com and Fasthockey.com PPV beginning with the pregame show at 6:50 PM.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
