Weekly Wrap Up. Busy Week of Games

A busy 3 game week ended for the Mission City Outlaws on Saturday when the Richmond Sockeyes came to the Mission Leisure Centre.

This was the first look at the Sockeyes this season for the Outlaws and Mission City was really going to use this game as a measuring stick to see exactly where the team stands against a powerhouse team like the Sockeyes organization.

After coming off a loss on Wednesday night against the North Van Wolf Pack, the Outlaws were able to get a convincing win on the road in Ridge Meadows on Friday against the Flames so the confidence could really be felt from Mission City coming into the game against Richmond.

Stride for stride, the Outlaws, while 5 on 5, had the slight edge over the Sockeyes but once again special teams would play a HUGE factor in the game.  The Outlaws would not stay out of the box as they gave up 11 power play opportunities to Richmond in which they capitalized 4 times and also added a short handed tally as well on route to a 6-2 victory over Mission City.

The silver lining is that the Outlaws coaching staff have a lot of good video to see just where they went wrong this week and you can bet it will be a busy week of practice ahead of Wednesday nights tilt with the Aldergrove Kodiaks.

The team is saying all the right things in response to the penalty blunders so we know they are quite aware of where these games are won and lost and it will take everyone to buy in in order to eliminate the penalty trouble.

It will be a 2 game week for the Mission City Outlaws as they will be on the road at the Aldergrove Community Arena in Aldergove to take on the Kodiaks on Wednesday.  Then the team will wrap up the weeks games when they welcome the Abbotsford Pilots at the Mission Leisure Centre on Saturday.

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
