After coming off a victory on Wednesday night against the Aldergrove Kodiaks, tonight the Outlaws will be looking to keep the good times rolling when the Abbotsford Pilots come to the Mission Leisure Centre.
The last time these 2 teams met was at the MSA Arena in Abbotsford which saw the visiting Mission City Outlaws come out with a convincing 8-1 victory. The Pilots are coming off a come from behind win of their own last night against the Kodiaks defeating Aldergrove 5-3.
As it was noted on the broadcast the other day, the Harold Brittain Conference is extremely close in the standings for the first time in recent memory and I have a feeling that it could be quite the dog fight throughout the season for positioning. Since Wednesday nights victory for the Outlaws, they have gone from 2nd to 3rd and now are in 4th place as the Pilots have 1 game in hand.
Who to watch for:
Mission City – Brock Padgham – Padgham has really looked like he has taken a turn in the right direction in recent games. Chipping in offensively with a goal and 3 assists in the last 2 games and now leads all D-Men with 5 points on the campaign.
Abbotsford – Kolten Grieve – Grieve leads the team in points right now with 10 and has always been a thorn in the side of the Outlaws in the past. The 20 year old looks like he’s on pace to match his totals from last year at a point a half game guy.
There are many story lines that can take place tonight. First thing is the Outlaws will be in search of their 1st win of the season on home ice. Secondly, they will be in search of their first back to back win of the season. And thirdly, the 2 teams are tied at 7 points each in the standings so a victory will leap frog either team to 1st place tonight.
