GAME DAY!!! Outlaws Host Delta Ice Hawks

The second meeting of the season will take place tonight at the Mission Leisure Centre between the Delta Ice Hawks and the Mission City Outlaws.

Delta took the first game of the season series out at the South Delta Recreation Centre by a 2-1 final which was a very tight checking game between both teams.

The Outlaws were missing 3 of their top 4 point scorers the last time these 2 teams met.  Mission City has started to heal the bumps and bruises and that was no more evident on Thursday in the 6-4 victory over the Sockeyes.

Delta sits tied for 3rd in the Tom Shaw Conference with the Grandview Steelers and will be looking to end a 4 game losing skid tonight.  The Outlaws are tied for 4th in the tight Harold Brittain Conference and are 1 of 2 teams in the conference playing tonight as Ridge Meadows is in North Vancouver.  An Outlaws win would put them in 2nd or 3rd depending on how the result of the other game goes tonight in North Van.

Who to watch for:

Mission City – Bryce Phenix – Phenix has had the entire work load on his shoulders in the absence due to injury to Jeff Veitch and has looked like he’s really taken the reigns and kept his team in some tight games.

Delta – Andreas Siagris – Siagris has a knack for finding open team mates to get the puck to them and create scoring chances.  He leads the team in assists with 12 and leads the team in scoring with 14 points.

Final thoughts:

As nice as it was to pick up a victory on Thursday night against the Richmond Sockeyes, the Outlaws know that this can be a real chance to start proving to the rest of the league that this team is a contender.  Hard work is an asset for success and composure and discipline are going to be factors as the season moves forward and you just have to take it game by game.

Opening face off is at 6:45 PM at the MLC.  Tickets are available at the door.  Also the game is available on Pay Per View on for $9.99 or you can listen for FREE on our audio only channel on or click the “LISTEN LIVE” link in the left hand menu on our website on

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
