GAME DAY!!! Outlaws @ Grandview Steelers

After dropping the second consecutive game last night to the Port Moody Panthers, the Mission City Outlaws will be looking to get back to some winning ways this afternoon when they pay a visit to the Grandview Steelers.

The Outlaws found themselves for the second straight game playing catch up for the most part but were able to tie things up very late in the middle frame to make it interesting but after all was said and done, the Outlaws found themselves down and the Port Moody Panthers would hold on for a 5-3 victory.

The main story from last night was the fact that Mission City could only capitalize on 2 of their 9 power play attempts.  Something that needs to improve if this team is going to move forward,  The bright side for the Outlaws was the ability to control most of the flow throughout the game.  Key’s that they can take with them moving forward and putting games like last night in the rear view mirror so to speak.

Grandview took the first meeting of the season at the MLC and they currently sit 4th in the tough Tom Shaw conference with a record of 8-7-0-0 for 16 points.  The Outlaws are in the bottom of the division but only sit 2 points back of 2nd place Abbotsford Pilots.

Who to watch for:

Mission City – Bryce Pisiak – Pisiak has the ability to open up ice with his skating ability.  When he gets in the middle of the slot he seems to be lights out for a great scoring chance.  The Outlaws look to his veteran presence as his line really connects.

Grandview – Cameron Ginnetti – Ginnetti had a goal and an assist the last time these teams met and in his rookie season with the Steelers has accumulated 4 goals and 8 assists in 15 games.

Final thoughts:

The positive thing about last nights loss is the fact that the Mission City Outlaws have no time to dwell and can put today`s game in the site lines to get back on the winning track.  It won`t be easy as Grandview is a solid defensive team but there are holes in the Grandview line up that the Outlaws can expose.
