Weekly Wrap Up!!! Outlaws Close But No Cigar

For the 2nd straight game the Outlaws drew first blood when they scored first on Saturday night at the Mission Leisure Centre when the Abbotsford Pilots came to town to renew the cross town rivalry.

It was a tight checking affair for the first 2 periods as the game sat at a 1-1 tie through 40 minutes.  Both goaltenders played very solid in the first 40 minutes but the 3rd period is where things really started to open up.  Abbotsford came out with a little more jump and that really put the Outlaws on their heals as before Mission City knew it they were down 5-1 with no real answers back on offence.  The Outlaws did manage to turn on the jets and attempt to dig themselves out of the hole they had dug themselves but Jacob Crawford would stand tall in the Pilots net and only allowed 1 goal in the final frame.  Abbotsford would take the game by a final score of 5-2.

Not the result the Outlaws were looking for and I mentioned on the broadcast last night that you just get a feeling that something has to give soon as the team can ill afford to keep dropping games especially in the tight Harold Brittain Conference.  Making up ground before the halfway point is a must.

Pressure has really started to mount on the organization as the team, is set to host the Cyclone Taylor Cup this season and unfortunately the team is not playing like a contender right now.  One thing I know for sure is that this team has a lot of class and they don’t like what’s going on with the club right now.  The effort level is there still and as soon as the team can iron out some kinks, this team has a real chance to make some hay in the standings.

The Outlaws will get a chance for redemption against the very same Abbotsford Pilots this Friday at the MSA Arena in Abbotsford.  The Pilots now lead the season series 2-1 and Mission City would love to get back even.

We are making attempts to get in the building to broadcast the game on our FREE ‘Audio Only’ channel on mixlr.com but if that can’t happen then we will still do our best to bring you all the action live as I will attempt to call the game from watching the FastHockey feed.  Should be fun.

Stay tuned to twitter by following @outlawsbcast or @missionoutlaws for all the details of the upcoming weeks games.

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
