The Mission City Outlaws wrapped up the 2014 portion of the season registering their 4th win in a row as they had a 2-0 victory over the Port Moody Panthers on Saturday night at the Mission Leisure Centre.
It was the back end of the home ice double header between the 2 clubs and was also the 4th and final meeting of the season between the teams. The Outlaws and the Panthers came into the game on different sides of the standings spectrum. The Panthers are in the bottom cellar of the Tom Shaw Conference with 13 points on the season and the Outlaws are moving up the Harold Brittain Conference as they now have 28 points and sit just 4 points behind the Langley Knights for 3rd place.
Bryce Phenix recorded his first ever career shut out in the victory turning aside all 18 shots he faced and earned the games 1st star. His counterpart at the other end of the rink was far busier for the Panthers as Spencer Kozlowski turned aside 37 of 39 shots and really kept his team in this game.
Bryce Pisiak also extended his point streak to 4 games with the game winning goal and Ryan Sharma iced the game with his 5th goal of the season. Pisiak now has points in 12 of his last 13 games and is showing no signs of slowing down.
It will be a busy start to 2015 for the Mission City Outlaws as they play 2 games this coming week and it all starts on New Years night at the George Preston Recreation Centre to take on the Langley Knights. Then wrapping up the week at home when the Outlaws host the North Van Wolf Pack.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
