GAME DAY!!! Outlaws Host North Van Wolf Pack

The Mission City Outlaws will look to rebound after a tough loss on Thursday night when they host one of the top teams in the PJHL in the North Van Wolf Pack at the Mission Leisure Centre.

The 2 meetings this season between these 2 clubs were decided by 1 goal as both contests ended in a 5-4 come from behind victory for the Wolf Pack.  Late game penalty trouble was front and center for the Outlaws in both meetings and the team strongly feels that they very well could be on the positive side of the season match up.

North Van will be playing their first game in 2 weeks since they had a lengthy break for the holidays.  The Wolf Pack sit 2 points behind league leading Richmond Sockeyes but have 3 games in hand.  The Outlaws have been one of the busiest teams in the PJHL during the holiday break and have gone 4-0-0-1 in the last 5 games.

Special teams:

Mission City – The Outlaws currently sit 4th in the PJHL in the Power Play department with 35 goals in 153 attempts and also sit 4th on the Penalty Kill with 41 goals against in 190 opportunities for their opposition.

North Van – The Wolf Pack currently sit 5th in the PJHL on the Power Play with 31 goals in 170 attempts but sit 8th in the league on the Penalty Kill with 27 goals against in 147 opportunities for their opposition.

Final thoughts:

We have said it all season long.  Special teams can be a big difference maker in the PJHL as the Outlaws found this out the hard way on Thursday night and also the last 2 meetings with the North Van Wolf Pack.  The Outlaws will need to play a more disciplined game tonight to have any chance of success against one of the better offences in the league.
