It was a unique situation on Friday night as the Mission City Outlaws made a very rare trip to Vancouver Island to start the first of 3 games this weekend against the Comox Valley Glacier Kings and the Nanaimo Buccaneers respectably.
Up first for the Outlaws was in fact a date with the Glacier Kings. It was the first game of back to back games and after a slow start Mission City would switch gears in the last half of the opening frame and were able to notch things up at 2-2 after 1 period.
It was all Outlaws from that point on and after a spirited affair with a couple of fights from Kolby Steen and Jake Gushue and a 4 point night for David McGowan who had 3 goals and 1 assist en route to a 5-3 victory over Comox Valley.
I had a chance to get the thoughts of David McGowan post game:
With the victory the Outlaws improve their preseason run to 4-0 and will be looking to carry that momentum into tomorrow afternoon when they conclude the 2 game series with the Glacier Kings at 1:30 pm. You can catch all the action once again on the Outlaws Broadcast Network on mixlr.com/outlawshockey beginning with the pregame show at 1:20 pm.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
