It was a time for redemption for the Mission City Outlaws on Saturday night at the Mission Leisure Centre as the team welcomed the only team to beat them in regulation so far this 2015/16 campaign, the Richmond Sockeyes.
After a tight checking 1st period the flood gates really opened up in the favour of the hometown Outlaws as they defeated the Sockeyes 6-1.
This loss for Richmond was very uncharacteristic to what we have seen from the Sockeyes during the past few season. The last time that Richmond lost by more than 2 goals in regular season play was against the very same Mission City Outlaws back on January 17th of this year when the Outlaws handed the Sockeyes a 5-1 defeat at the Mission Leisure Centre.
Bryce Pisiak had yet another great night for the Outlaws as he recorded 3 goals and added an assist in the victory. Kolby Steen, Brock Padgham and Noah Wiebe rounded off the scoring for Mission City. I had a chance to catch up with Bryce Pisiak following the game:
The #1 power play of the Outlaws was good yet again as the Outlaws went 2 for 8 with the man advantage and they were able to hold Richmond to 0 for 6.
With the victory, Mission City recorded their 6th straight win and hold 1st place overall in the PJHL with 15 points.
The Outlaws get set now to take on the Delta Ice Hawks on Tuesday night at the Ladner Leisure Centre. The puck drops at 7:35 PM and can be heard for FREE on the Outlaws Broadcast Network at mixlr.com/outlawshockey. Pregame show begins at 7:25 PM.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
