Even though I was not in the building on Friday night and had no choice but to watch the game on Fast Hockey you could tell that the Mission City Outlaws were on the wrong end of some questionable calls which made it extremely difficult for the team muster really any offence.
The Abbotsford Pilots would capitalize on the many power play opportunities 3 times and would really be the difference maker in a 4-1 loss for the Outlaws. Brody Dyck would get the Mission City lone goal in the game.
Jeff Veitch made his first start between the pipes for the Outlaws and made some solid saves when he was called upon as he faced 42 shots on goal.
With the loss the Outlaws now have a record of 11-3-0-1 for 23 points and still sit atop the Harold Brittain Conference Standings and 1st Overall in the PJHL by 4 points.
It will be a rare road game for the Outlaws tonight when they travel to the Port Moody Arena in Port Moody to take on the Port Moody Panthers. The Panthers are coming off a loss as well last night in Maple Ridge at the hands of the Flames and will be looking to try and get back in the win column as well.
It was an Outlaws victory the last time these 2 teams met but the Panthers have made some much needed changes and have acquired 96 born rookie Chong Lee who is a member of the Korean Nation U20 team. Lee has quickly made his presence known as he is already 2nd in scoring on Port Moody recording 5 goals and 1 assist for 6 points in 3 games. Mission City will keep a guy like that in their site lines.
Tonight’s game can be heard on the Outlaws Broadcast Network at mixlr.com/outlawshockey for FREE beginning with the pregame show at 7:35 PM and the opening face off is at 7:45 PM.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
