It was a busy 2 game week for the Mission City Outlaws as they hosted the Port Moody Panthers and the North Vancouver Wolf Pack at the Mission Leisure Centre.
On Thursday night, the Outlaws and Panthers were only separated by a goal after 40 minutes before the flood gates opened up and Mission City convincingly defeated the Panthers 5-1.
Mission City had multi point games from Cole Pisiak, Bryce Pisiak, David McGowan, Baylee Wright and Ryan Sharma. Matt Sawyer got the win between the pipes for the Outlaws as he turned aside 27 of 28 shots sent his way.
On Saturday night, the Wolf Pack came into the game winners of 5 straight looking to extend that streak and more importantly leap frog the Grandview Steelers in the Tom Shaw Conference for the top spot.
After the first period which saw the Outlaws have a 1-0 lead the home team would explode in the 2nd period and take a 5-1 lead into the final frame of regulation. You could tell that the Wolf Pack were going to play some desperate hockey to try and get this one close and they were able to do just that, scoring 3 in the 3rd but time was not on the side of North Van and Mission City would hold on for the 5-4 victory.
The win improves the Outlaws streak to 5 games and they have extended their lead atop the Harold Brittain Conference to 8 points ahead of the Abbotsford Pilots with a record of 16-3-0-1 for 33 points on the season.
It will be a well deserved break for the Outlaws as they won’t see action until next Saturday when they host the Langley Knights. Game time is 6:45 PM so come on out and support your team Mission. Tickets are only $10 for Adults. Students and Seniors just $6. $3 for kids 6-12 and as always children 5 and under are FREE with a paid Adult. Fun for the WHOLE family.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
