After failing to pick up 2 points on Friday night in a 3-2 loss to the Ridge Meadows Flames, the Mission City Outlaws looked to get back in the win column on Saturday against the Richmond Sockeyes.
It was a better start for the Outlaws as they were able to put the feeling out process so to speak in the rear view mirror and come out of the gate with a huge offensive push right from the word go.
8 different goal scorers tallied for Mission City as they handed a 8-4 defeat to the Sockeyes. David McGowan, Noah Weibe, Brock Padgham, Brody Dyck, Ryan Sharma, Kolby Steen and getting his first goal as an Outlaw, Tyler Wickman all got pucks past goaltender Quinten Paille.
With the win, the Outlaws have now won 7 of their last 8 games and more importantly regained the 8 point cushion over the Abbotsford Pilots in the Harold Brittain Conference Standings with a record of 18-4-0-1 good for 37 points.
After the game I caught up with one of the games goal scorers, Kolby Steen and then the thoughts of Head Coach Brad Veitch to get his thoughts at the halfway point of the season:
It will be a weekend of rematches for the Outlaws as the last 2 teams to hand the team losses, the Abbotsford Pilots and the Ridge Meadows Flames will be the opponent for Mission City.
The team will travel to the MSA Arena on Friday night and will be looking to create more separation between the 2 clubs. There will be no broadcast for this game. The broadcast will however be ready to go on Saturday night when the Outlaws host the Ridge Meadows Flames at the Mission Leisure Centre. Game time is 6:45 PM. Catch all the action on the Outlaws Broadcast Network.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
