It was a loss and a win for the Mission City Outlaws this week as they took on the Abbotsford Pilots on Friday night and the Ridge Meadows Flames to finish off the week on Saturday night.
On Friday night, the Outlaws traveled to the MSA Arena and after a strong showing in the 1st, Mission City would let their foot off the gas pedal for a span of about 7 minutes in the middle frame which would cost the Outlaws as they weren’t able to recover fully and ended up on the losing end of a 5-4 loss.
The Mission City Outlaws were looking to make things right on Saturday night and the Outlaws were looking to avenge a loss the previous week to the Flames.
Putting the disappointing loss from Friday night behind them, Mission City would come on hard with the offense and never once trailed in the game on route to a 7-1 victory over Ridge Meadows.
Keeping up with his solid play, forward Noah Wiebe had 4 blocked shots and added a goal and after the game I caught up with the 17 year old rookie:
With the win, the Outlaws move back to an 8 point cushion on the 2nd place Abbotsford Pilots in the Harold Brittain Conference Standings. After 25 games Mission City has a record of 19-5-0-1 for 39 points and a fun fact the magic number is 5 for the Outlaws to secure a playoff spot. This means the team is just 5 wins away. Isn’t that crazy?
The Outlaws will get a chance to make the magic number lower this week when they take on the Langley Knights on Thursday night at the George Preston Recreation Centre in Langley and then a Home date at the MLC on Saturday when the team welcomes the Abbotsford Pilots.
Thursday nights game is a 7:30 start time and you can catch all the LIVE action on our FREE ‘Audio Only’ channel on mixlr.com/outlawshockey.
As for now you’re up to date. See you at the rink.
