McGowan Breaks Single Season Assist Record

It was a historic night on Friday for the Captain of the Mission City Outlaws, David McGowan, as he was able to tie and then break the single season assist record in the PJHL with 67 total assists and counting which was set back in 1977/78.

The record was originally held by Brent O’Connor with the North Shore Flames and Lexi Doner who played with the Seattle Northwest Americans who shared the prestigious title in the late 70’s.

McGowan came into the game in Maple Ridge against the Flames needing just a single assist to tie the previous record and mission accomplished for the 20 year old forward.

This record is just a series of records that have been broken by the Outlaws the past couple seasons and with 3 games remaining in the regular season there is no doubt that McGowan will continue to add to this impressive feat.

On behalf of the Mission City Outlaws Junior Hockey Club we would like to extend our sincere congratulations to David!

On another note, McG0wan and the rest of the Mission City Outlaws will be looking to extend their winning streak to 10 games tonight but the only thing standing in their way of making that happen is the very tough Aldergrove Kodiaks.  It will be the final meeting of the regular season when these 2 teams lock horns tonight at the Mission Leisure Centre.  Puck drops on the action at 6:45 PM.

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
