First Round Playoffs Still Out of Focus

A unique situation has developed in the 50th season of the Pacific Junior Hockey League and it’s a pretty exciting one to be a part of.

As I am writing this there is still no concrete first round match up for either the Harold Brittain or Tom Shaw Conferences.

The Outlaws are a big part of the final race to the post season as they are in a dog fight with the Abbotsford Pilots for 1st place in the Brittain Conference standings.  Mission City sits at 62 points going into the final week of the regular season and the Pilots sit 2 points back at 60.

Let me paint the picture for you.  The Outlaws have 1 game remaining which will take place this Saturday at the Mission Leisure Centre against Abbotsford.  The Pilots have 2 games remaining as they will host the Langley Knights at the MSA Arena on Friday night before taking on the Outlaws.

If everything goes the way I think it will just by the numbers, Abbotsford should pick up the victory on Friday night, then Saturday’s game will be a winner take 1st place in the Conference scenario.

The only thing the Outlaws have on their agenda is to win and set the tone for the upcoming post season run.  It has been a remarkable season once again and Mission City has already done something they haven’t done before in their existence and that was finishing better than 3rd place.

The Ridge Meadows Flames and the Aldergrove kodiaks will have a little longer to wait and see who the first round match up will be and you will not want to miss a minute of the action.  Let’s fill the rink and support your Mission City Outlaws and show the rest of the league just why we have the best fans in the PJHL.  Game time is 6:45 PM Saturday.

As for now you’re up to date.  See you at the rink.
