Outlaws and Pilots swing a deal on deadline day

The Mission City Outlaws have re-acquired former assistant Captain Kyle Lennea and defenceman  Haydn Downing from the Abbotsford Pilots in exchange for defenceman Tyler Wickman.

Coach Brad Veitch on why they made the deal.

“It gives us some more depth and experience up front getting Kyle back. We felt we needed to add another center with loss of Bailey Wright. Downing is another good young defenceman that we believe will fit in nicely with guys we have.”

20 year old Lennea, who had played 120 regular season games in an Outlaws jersey over parts of four seasons, had four goals and 15 points in 20 games with the Pilots since being traded there earlier this year.

18 year old Downing is in his rookie season in the PJHL. The 5′ 11″, 165 lb blueliner has two goals and five assists in 24 games.

18 year old Wickman was in his second season with the Outlaws and was recently named to the PJHL All-Star game. The 6’3”, 190 lb defender has three goals and five assists through 33 games.
